The Miami Heats

Ever since I came to high school, I started to like basketball. I love to watch the NBA games. One of my personal favorite team is the Miami Heats. One day in middle school, the cafeteria was going crazy. I wondered why everybody were standing up staring at the T.V screaming their lungs out. It was Miami Heats against the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA finals. With the amazing shots and plays that Miami made through the playoffs and the finals, they have won the championship.

The Miami Heats seemed like an un-defeatable team when Dwayne Wade and Shaquille O'Neal were together. However, during the 2007~2008 season, both of the star players were injured for several months. Though most of the basketball players who are in the NBA are skillful and dexterous, replacing a superstar position was too big for the Miami bench. The champion team became the worst record team in 2007~2008 season. :(

Things were starting to change in Miami. The Heats traded Shaq O'Neal for Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks. This gave advantages and disadvantages to Miami. The starting players were usually: Dwayne Wade, Jason Williams, Udonis Haslem, Shaq O Neal, Antoine Walker. After all the trading and injuries put together the new starting line up changed in to a more young and diverse group. As the 2008~2009 season started, Miami required Michael Beasley and Mario Chalmers from the NBA draft. With a younger team, Miami not only improved it's defense, but it's offense as well. However, the Heats still need a veteran point guard or big man to help them in the playoffs.

In February, Miami Heats decided to trade Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks for Jermaine O'Neal and Jamario Moon. This was an excellent trade for the Miami Heats because Jermaine O'Neal is a veteran player and Jamario Moon is a very athletic young player who always crashes the boards. Although many people believe that either Lakers, Celtics, Cavaliers are going to win, I strongly believe that Miami Heat has a chance to get another championship ring.

  1. I don't think Miami has any chance at another championship ring this year. Dwyane Wade has been doing it all for the Heat, but he just doesn't have enough supporting cast.
